These come off the person record, which names a work and not a production. So we can say this name is attached to the work and we cannot say which staging, or in what capacity. For a composer or a writer that is the whole career we hold; there is no cast list to find them in.

  • The best writers were philosophers who wrapped their commentary about life in laughter. Carl’s other hires included Garry Marshall, the future creator of Happy Days , and Jerry Belson, both of whom went on to magnificent careers. Jerry Paris also began to direct. The show became its own little world, with its internal rhythm and high stan…ebooks/Dyke, Dick Van/My Lucky Life in and Out of Show Business_ A Memoir - Dick Van Dyke.txt
  • My brother returned for another two-parter, and I was deeply amused when Jerry Belson and Garry Marshall wrote “Young Man with a Shoehorn,” an episode in which Rob becomes part owner of a shoe store and struggles as a salesman, based on a story I told one day about my own failure selling shoes in my uncle’s store. I was paid three dollars…ebooks/Dyke, Dick Van/My Lucky Life in and Out of Show Business_ A Memoir - Dick Van Dyke.txt
  • I did not want to be seen as difficult, but I was spoiled by working with the best writers in the business, Carl Reiner, Aaron Ruben, Garry Marshall, Jerry Belson, Sam Denoff, and men of that ilk. As I told People magazine, it seemed to me that networks now pandered to an audience afflicted with “attention deficit disorders”—that is, if s…ebooks/Dyke, Dick Van/My Lucky Life in and Out of Show Business_ A Memoir - Dick Van Dyke.txt
  • This was a fun film to make. I spent a lot of time in a turquoise bikini. In one scene, producer Garry Marshall wanted me to be nude in bed with James Garner, who plays my husband. I refused to be completely naked. I argued with Garry, who finally let me do the scene wearing panties and pasties. James was supposed to be nude also, but he…ebooks/Reynolds, Debbie/B0089LOHFG EBOK - Debbie Reynolds & Dorian Hannaway.txt
  • Jerry’s closest friend was Garry Marshall, who wrote and produced the film along with Jerry Belson. There’s nobody like Garry—one of the great comedy minds and the greatest friend you could ever want. He is luckily married to a true doll, Barbara. What this page does not know

  • What this person played. No cast list we hold records a character against a performer.
  • Any staging. This name appears in no production cast list we hold — 1,877 of 7,139 people are in that position, most of them writers, composers and designers rather than performers.
  • Which of the credits above the roles on this record — book writer — apply to. The roles sit on the person and never on a credit, so a director who also acted looks the same here as one who did not.
