Stephanie J. Block won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for playing the oldest version of Cher. The real Cher appeared on stage at the opening night curtain call, dancing with the cast.
Given the title of the musical, fans of the former Cherilyn Sarkisian must have been furious after they’d paid top dollar for their tickets, settled in their seats, and only then discovered that, despite that title, Cher herself wasn’t in it.
