Jill Santoriello began working on a musical version of A Tale of Two Cities in the late 1980s. After many years of readings, workshops, and invitation-only events, the show finally succeeded in landing a pre-Broadway tryout in 2007 at the Asolo Repertory Theatre in Sarasota, Florida.
