When the corn crop in the small town of Cob County starts dying, naive Maizy sets out to find help and falls for Gordy, a smooth-talking con man posing as a corn doctor. As Gordy's scheme threatens to unravel, Maizy and the townsfolk must sort the real from the fake, learning that you can't judge a kernel by its husk — and that love can grow in the most unexpected soil.
