In California's Napa Valley, aging Italian-American vintner Tony falls deeply in love with a waitress named Rosabella after a brief encounter. Too insecure about his appearance to court her honestly, Tony sends a photograph of his handsome young foreman Joe instead, setting in motion a chain of romantic deceptions that threaten to destroy true love before it can take root.
