In desperation, he disguises himself as a woman named Dorothy Michaels and lands a role in a Broadway show, becoming an overnight sensation. But as Dorothy, Michael discovers what it is like to be treated as a woman in the theatre world, and falls for his co-star Julie — who thinks he is her new best girlfriend.
