Every list on this site is also an Atom feed. Point a reader at one and it will tell you when the catalogue's record of something in it changes.
A show from 1927 is not going to change. Our record of it changes constantly — this catalogue is being built, and photographs, verifications and corrections land against records that are a century old.
So an entry is dated by when we last touched the record, never by when the thing happened. A feed of the 1920s tells you when a photograph turned up for a 1926 revue. It does not tell you about 1926.
Two exceptions, both honest ones. Opened on this day is dated by the calendar, because the list genuinely is different tomorrow. A list you keep yourself is dated by when you added something to it.
/on/today.atom forwards you to today's.864 collections, 864 feeds, plus one for every list anyone keeps. Atom 1.0. If yours wants RSS, it will read this — every reader built since about 2005 reads both.
